The debate being aired live locally in eight TV and 34 radio stations centres on issues of governance, social services, health and education, security and resource management.
International media outlets — BBC, CNN, Reuters and Al Jazeera are also covering the historic event.

A guest list of 200 has been drawn up representing all sectors at the auditorium, but it is estimated that more than 40 million viewers and listeners across the globe will have access to the debate.

6:54: TNA's Uhuru Kenyatta arrives at the venue of the debate accompanied by his wife Margaret Kenyatta.
6:52pm: Amani's presidential candidate Musalia Mudavadi arrives at the venue of the debate accompanied by his running mate Jeremiah Kioni.
6:30pm: Presidential candidates Prof James ole Kiyiapi, Martha Karua, Peter Kenneth and Raila Odinga have arrived at the venue of the debate.
Kenya's presidential debate is now being broadcasted live by media houses.
The event dubbed ‘Presidential Debate 2013’ is being held at Brookhouse International School.
Eight presidential candidates Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Martha Karua, Peter Kenneth, James ole Kiyiapi, Paul Muite and Mohammed Abdula Dida will battle it out.
The debate being aired live locally in eight TV and 34 radio stations centres on issues of governance, social services, health and education, security and resource management.
International media outlets — BBC, CNN, Reuters and Al Jazeera are also covering the historic event.
Internet giant, Google, is stream the debate at http://www.youtube.com/user/electionskenya and the Daily Nation at http://www.nation.co.ke and live text of the proceedings in the website.
A guest list of 200 has been drawn up representing all sectors at the auditorium, but it is estimated that more than 40 million viewers and listeners across the globe will have access to the debate.
The event will last for two hours with the candidates answering questions from two moderators — NTV’s Linus Kaikai and Julie Gichuru of Citizen TV.
